DIFFERENT BETWEEN NEET, IIT -JEE
There are many ways and many various options to define difference between NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test ) and IIT- JEE ( Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination) can be summarized as follow :
1. Field of Study: NEET is an entrance exam for admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs (MBBS/BDS) in India, while IIT-JEE is an entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering programs (B. Tech) at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other engineering institutes.
2. Subjects Covered: NEET primarily focuses on subjects like Biology (Botany and Zoology), Physics, and Chemistry, with a strong emphasis on medical and life science concepts. IIT-JEE, on the other hand, primarily focuses on subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with an emphasis on engineering concepts and problem-solving skills.
3. Exam Structure: NEET is a single paper exam consisting of multiple-choice questions. IIT-JEE consists of two main papers – JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is a computer-based test with multiple-choice questions, while JEE Advanced is also a computer-based test but includes both multiple-choice and numerical answer-type questions.
4. Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for NEET, candidates must have completed their 10+2 (or equivalent) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects. For IIT-JEE, candidates must have completed their 10+2 (or equivalent) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects.
5. Career Paths: Clearing NEET and securing admission to a medical college leads to a career in medicine or dentistry, allowing students to become doctors, surgeons, dentists, or pursue other medical professions. On
the other hand, clearing IIT-JEE and securing admission to an IIT or other top engineering institutes can lead you ,to a career in engineering, technology, research, or related fields that can be a specific for when you know what you want do .
6. Exam Frequency: NEET is usually conducted once a year, typically in May. JEE Main, The first stage of IIT-JEE, is conducted by twice a year (January and April), while JEE Advanced, the second stage of IIT – JEE , is held in once a year.
Both NEET and IIT – JEE are competitive entrance exams, they cater to fields of study and have different syllabus ,exams timing , exams patterns, and eligibility criteria.
It’s important for students to known what they want , what are their specialty , what are they interests, what they want to be ,what are their career goals and what are their strengths in order to choose the appropriate exam to appear for and prepare according.
It’s important to note that IIT-JEE and NEET are separate examination with distinct objectives . The choice between the two depends on the career path a student wishes to pursue – engineering or medicine.
It’s advisable for students to identify their interests and aptitudes before deciding which exam to appear for and then prepare accordingly .
NEET & IIT – JEE are both are different field and we can say that they are different stream also but a common thing was their basic foundation .
Both subjects has basic foundation of physics & chemistry .
